In a volatile world where spouses walkout, stock markets crumble, houses burn down, and friends betray, God’s Word is the only stable foundation that does not shift with time or circumstance. He does not crack under pressure, and His promises are ever true (Psalm 89:34). No matter how many promises God has made, they are “YES” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).

10 Promises of Seeking God - 31 Bible Verses On Seeking God - Chosen and Cherished (1)

When you and I take the stand to seek God first – His kingdom and His righteousness – a divine exchange takes place (Matthew 6:33). He replaces the heaviness of a worldly yoke ladened with striving and surviving. In committing to a pursuit of God, He promises we will find:

1.) Seek Him And Receive Rest

The greatest treasure of seeking the Lord is the promise that we find Him, and, in finding Him, we find rest for our weary souls. He is the source of rest because His yoke is easy, and Hisburden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

  • “I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me will find me. Proverbs 8:17
  • But from there, you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29
  • So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9-10
  • ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

2.) Seeking God Gives You Life

The same God who created life is trustworthy with your life. He came so that you might live abundantly. Seeking God ignites the eternity He placed in every heart and sets our mind on eternal things. While the world says, seek fulfillment to find life, God’s word says inseeking Him, you will fulfill your life.

  • For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel, “Seek Me that you may live. Amos 5:4-6
  • The poor will eatand be satisfied;those who seek theLordwill praise him—may your hearts live forever! Psalm 22:26
  • The humble shall seethis, andbe glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. Psalm 69:32

3.) Those Who Seek God Find Strength

His strength is limitless. When our knees become weak from pressure and our hands tremble with fear, He strengthens and steadies our way. It’s in those lowest moments where His strength shines the brightest. Here we mount wings of eagles to soar above the earthly circumstances, to run and not grow weary (Isaiah 40:31).

6.) Discernment, Understanding, & Wisdom Comes To Those Who Seek Him

As we commit to seeking God first, His wisdom and understanding pour over us with true freedom to follow His plan and purpose for our lives. And the foolishness of God is wiser than all human wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:25). From His throne flows the discernment to live every day to the fullest, making the most of every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15-16).

  • Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the LORD understand all things. Proverbs 28:5
  • Indeed, if you call out for insightand cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silverand search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of theLordand find the knowledge of God.For theLordgives wisdom;from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. • This I recall to my mind; therefore I have hope.ThroughtheLord’s mercies, we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They arenew every morning; greatisYour faithfulness.“TheLordismy portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” TheLordisgood to those who wait for Him, to the soulwhoseeks Him. Any sacrifice you make in seeking God is rewarded by the One who owns it all (Psalm 24:1). Though it may lookdifferent than you expect, Jesus promises no one who leaves earthly things in pursuit of Him will fail to receive as much in the present age and the age to come (Mark 10:28-30).

  • How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart? Psalm 119:2

9.) Seeking God’s Kingdom Leads to Righteousness

Through Christ, we are declared righteous; however, living a virtuous life – daily – does not come easy. By seeking God, we can walk in the Spirit and not gratify the flesh’s desires (Galatians 5:16). We become like those with whom we spend time. Because apart from Him, we cannot produce a righteous life (John 15:5).

  • Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD Until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12

  • I seek you with all my heart;do not let me stray from your commands. Psalm 119:10

10.) Satisfaction Is Found In Seeking God

In a world full of options and the desire for more, it’s easy to become discontent with our lives. The steadfast pursuit of seeking God first is the only source of true satisfaction. He satisfies the hungry, longing soul with good things (Psalm 107:9) and promises that all who come to Him will not hunger or thirst (John 6:35).

  • O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
  • One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent, He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 27:4-5

In Matthew 13:44, Jesus tells a parable about a field with a hidden treasure. Filled with joy, the man who stumbled upon it sold everything he had to buy the field. His Kingdom is the treasure worth shoving everything aside to pursue. Let’schase Him like the treasure He is, knowing our hearts will follow (Matthew 6:21) and watch these promises come to life.

Many times we are hesitant to seek after God because we are afraid of what we might lose.. Everything we need in this life is provided for us when we seek after God first.. “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).. “But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, ‘May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyone who sets their heart on seeking God—the Lord, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary’ And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people” (2 Chronicles 30:18-20).. “The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God” (Psalm 14:2).. God is actively looking for those who are seeking Him regardless of who they are, where they live, or what they do.. Those God loves, He disciplines; therefore, sometimes God allows unfortunate events to draw our desires towards seeking after Him.. His love and desire for us to live a fulfilled life is more important than momentary setbacks.. His will is that every single human being (no matter where they live) would look around their environment and recognize their need for the Lord.. We don’t have the capacity to seek after the Lord.. We must resist the urges to only think of ourselves and to stretch our faith to seek God with all our hearts holding nothing back.. Seeking after God leads to a blessed life with peace and joy no matter the situation.

But what we do know is that God commands us to pray for our leaders who were put there by God, Himself, and leave the results to Him.. Pray continually each day that God would heal your home and nation, and that your leaders would also repent and be saved.. I don’t know what restored or healed will look like for me and my situation, but I’m sure if it’s from God, it’ll be good!. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord ( Romans 8:38-39 ).. How much does God love us?. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins ( 1 John 4:10 ).. If God is for us, who can be against us?. The Lord is our shepherd, and we can be sure he will care for us even in troubled times.. But God tells us that he will give us the strength to do everything through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.
